We are honored to invite you to attend the fifth annual Pima County Regional Law Enforcement Memorial Service. The service will be held on May 4th, 2012, at 9:00 a.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Tucson Convention Center, 260 South Church.

Since the 1800s, forty-six law enforcement officers have been killed in the line of duty in Pima County. These individuals dedicated their lives to serving the citizens of this region, and they did not falter from their course when the call came to give their lives. This event will give law enforcement agencies the opportunity to remember and recognize the sacrifices made by these heros.

The Master of Ceremonies will be Tucson resident and 17th Surgeon General of the United States, Dr. Richard Carmona. Executive Director of the 100 Club of Arizona, Ms. Sharon Knutson-Felix will be the keynote speaker. Over thirty agencies, representing federal, state, tribal and local law enforcement authorities, will be participating.

In recognition of this special occasion, the Pima County Board of Supervisors declared the week of April 29th – May 5th, 2012 as Pima County Peace Officers Memorial Week and May 4th, 2012 as Pima County Peace Officer Memorial Day.

The event will also be accessible via internet live stream at http://ondemand.azpm.org/live/.

Members of the media are asked to join us in this opportunity to honor our fallen comrades. We must live by the promise made to them when they were laid to rest; their sacrifice was not in vain and they will never be forgotten.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Deputy Tom Peine at (520) 351-6524.
