Drug Dealers arrested

On Monday, June 18, 2012, Counter Narcotics Alliance investigators discovered an elaborate in-door marijuana growing operation at a residence located in the 5300 block of W. El Camino del Cerro. Inside the residence, 367 marijuana plants were discovered inside two rooms, which had been converted exclusively for the purposes of growing and cultivating marijuana.
As a result, investigators arrested a 71 year old male, identified as Richard Allen Weaver and a 36 year old male, identified as Clinton Andrew Guthrie.
Evidence found at the residence also indicated that Weaver and Guthrie were selling high grade marijuana for $3500 per pound. In addition to the marijuana, investigators seized a significant amount of hydroponic grow equipment, an assault rifle and two handguns.
Both suspects were booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Center on drug cultivation charges. The potential street value of the marijuana is estimated to be in excess of $1,200,000.
