Air Unit

BMM_0011_bh.jpgThe Pima County Sheriff's Department Air Unit has a multi-pronged mission including patrol support, surveillance, prisoner extradition, border crime support and search and rescue.  To accomplish these varied tasks the Air Unit has five aircraft.  Patrol support is provided seven days a week using one HT295 and one H800 fixed wing Helio Courier.   For extradition and prisoner transport the Department uses a single engine Cessna Centurion T210N and Twin engine Cessna 310R.  For border support and search and rescue an American Eurocopter AS350B3e helicopter is utilized.  All of this is accomplished with a sergeant, six pilots and three full time A&P mechanics.
