Detective Roach was awarded the Silver Patrick Henry Award by the Catalina Mountains Chapter of the Military Order of the World Wars. This is the highest award that a Chapter can bestow on an individual.
Detective Roach has served the citizens of Pima County conducting narcotics investigations for the past 10 of his 22 years in law enforcement. He has provided his skills and expertise to Federal, Military, and local agencies throughout the Country to assist them with successful prosecutions of drug-related cases. As a result, he has developed a vast network of contacts to draw upon to aid in his investigations.
Detective Roach is a true patriot who believes in protecting this Country and its citizens. He does this by serving his community through drug investigations. It is commonly known that certain terrorist elements fund their activities through the illegal drug trade. Detective Roach's goal has been to stop this by putting these people in jail.
Detective Roach has conducted drug investigations in varying facets and with a variety of agencies:
- Drug smuggling cases with U.S. Customs
- Mid-level drug trafficking through the Pima County Sheriff’s Department’s Special Investigations Unit
- Conspiracy cases through D.E.A. H.I.D.T.A.
- Stash houses through the M.A.N.T.I.S. Knock and Talk Squad
- Financial Task Force with I.C.E.
- Parcel interdiction with the M.A.N.T.I.S. Parcel Squad
He is currently assigned to the Counter Narcotics Alliance Community Strike Team and is investigating Parcel and Freight Interdiction as well as stash-house investigation, conspiracy cases, and Pima County Sheriff’s Department call-outs, which could be any aspect of drug investigations.
Detective Roach serves as a trainer for new detectives and has taught at the Southern Arizona Law Enforcement Training Academy, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department’s in-service training and Directed Patrol Units.
During his career in Narcotics, Detective Roach has been responsible for the seizure of over 21,000 pounds of marijuana, over $2.2 million in U.S. currency, and several vehicles and other assets. He has also been instrumental in assisting other detectives and agencies in the seizure of thousands more pounds of marijuana, U.S. currency, and other assets.
Detective Roach is also very active in the community during his off-duty time. He has been a volunteer for the following activities:
Parks and Recreation – helping youths
County Hospital – helping seniors Immaculate Heart School and Catholic Church - many voluntary missions
Women’s Shelter - Deming, New Mexico
Relief Mission volunteer at the orphanage for children - Palomas, Mexico
Detective Roach has proven himself as a dedicated and committed member of society. His work, both on- and off-duty, shows the pride and love he has for this Country and for the citizens of the community. |
