On December 15, 2007, at approximately 3:05pm, deputies from the San Xavier District responded to the 3400 blk. of East Mossman Road for a shots fired call.  Upon arrival, deputies found an adult Hispanic male handcuffed in front of a residence.  They also found an adult Hispanic male deceased, from at least one gunshot wound, lying on the ground.  Another adult male and adult female, both Hispanic, were in the yard, also suffering from gunshot wounds.  They were both transported to local hospitals; the adult male with life threatening injuries and the adult female with non-life threatening injuries.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Homicide Unit responded to further investigate.  Through investigation and interviews with witnesses and investigative leads, detectives were able to ascertain the following information.  On Saturday during the early afternoon, the deceased adult male went to the home of the handcuffed adult male; he forced the adult male into his “stolen” 2005 white Chevy van and handcuffed him.  He forced information from the handcuffed male as to what the address was of another male in the 3400 blk. of East Mossman.  Upon arrival at the Mossman address, the male subject approached the residence, armed with a handgun.  An adult male and female exited the residence; the male also armed with a handgun.  The visiting male began shooting at which time, gunfire was exchanged.  The visiting male was deceased at the scene.  The adult male and female from the residence were injured.

At this time, detectives from the Homicide Unit, are listing this as self defense.  They are also investigating a possible drug connection.

Notification has not been completed, so the name of the deceased is not yet being released.
