*FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE*

December 7, 2007

Homicide

Recently, the Pima County Sheriff’s Homicide Unit received information in regards to the whereabouts of a missing person.  Initial information suggested that the missing person had been buried, possibly in the yard of an automotive shop located in the 3700 blk. of S. Dodge Blvd.  Detectives developed a case that this information was based on more than just speculation.  A search warrant was obtained and on December 6, 2007, at approximately 10:30am, the S.W.A.T. Team executed the search warrant.  Two subjects were found on the property and questioned; one was eventually arrested for 1st Degree Murder.

Detectives utilized cadaver canines from the Southwest Rescue Dogs throughout the day.  A backhoe was provided by the Pima County Department of Transportation to assist with the search.  At 6:00pm, the body of an adult male was located, partially encased in cement.

Due to severe decomposition, identification of the male has not been accomplished at this time.  An autopsy is scheduled for today.

The arrestee is identified as Jason Roy Mundell (DOB 02/27/74).  He was transported and booked into the Pima County Adult Center on one count of 1st Degree Murder.

At this time, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the whereabouts of Christopher Francis Wickersham (DOB 12/20/72), as an investigation lead.  Anyone with information is asked to contact 911 or 88-CRIME.
