The Pima County Sheriff’s Department has been experiencing an increase of fire activity in the Countryside Area, which consists of Linda Vista to the north, Hardy to the south, Camino de Oeste to the east, and Hartman to the west.  The Arson Unit is reporting a series of brush fires that have progressed to vehicle fires.  The fires have been generally occurring in the late evening or early morning hours.  The brush fires have been primarily set in vacant deserts and in washes (or culverts) behind residences.  The vehicles that have been set on fire have been parked in driveways or along streets.

The Arson Unit is requesting that anyone who resides in this area report any and all suspicious activity immediately by calling 911.  Anyone with specific information may call 911 or 88-CRIME.
