Rincon District
Boundaries
Geographically, the Rincon District primarily encompasses Northeastern Pima County, including Mt. Lemmon, Sabino Canyon, and other Coronado National Forest areas. It runs as far south as the Santa Cruz County line, to include Corona de Tucson, Vail, New Tucson, and the surrounding rural areas. The Rincon District covers 1155.49 square miles with an estimated population of 90,317. The district is divided into four geographical sections called “Beats.”

Beat One: A rural area which runs approximately from Escalante Road south to the Santa Cruz County line and from Kolb Road east to the Cochise County line. There are 570.73 square miles in Beat One with an estimated population of 15,200.

Acacia Elementary, Cienega High, Old Vail Middle, Sycamore Elementary, and Vail Charter High

Areas of Interest:

Cienega Creek Natural Preserve, Colossal Cave Mountain Park, Pima County Fairgrounds, Pima Motor Sports Park, Southwestern International Raceway, and Tucson Raceway Park

Resorts:

Del Lago Golf Club

Beat Two: Covers the area from Sabino Creek east to the Coronado National Forest, and north from the 5600 block (Bear Canyon Trailhead) south to Escalante Road. Beat Two zigzags with the City of Tucson (TPD’s jurisdiction) along Tanque Verde Road. There are 116.44 square miles in Beat Two with an estimated population of 29,512.

Agua Caliente Elementary, Collier Elementary, Emily Gray Middle, Sabino High, and Tanque Verde Elementary

Areas of Interest:

Roy P. Drachman-Agua Caliente Regional Park, Emily Gray Community Park, Lew Sorensen Tanque Verde Center, and McDonald Park

Forty-Niner Country Club, Tanque Verde Guest Ranch, and The Raven Golf Club

Beat Three: Covers from Campbell Avenue east to Sabino Creek and from approximately Tanque Verde Road north to the Pusch Ridge Wilderness area. The southern boundary of Beat Three zigzags with the City of Tucson (TPD's jurisdiction). There are 36.22 square miles in Beat Three with an estimated population of 45,330.

Canyon View Elementary, Catalina Foothills High, Esperero Middle, Fenster Alternative, Fruchthendler Elementary, Sunrise Elementary, and Ventana Vista Elementary

Areas of Interest:

Murphy Multi-Use Field and Vista Del Rio Park

Canyon Ranch, Hacienda Del Sol, Ventana Canyon, and Westin La Paloma

Beat Four: Essentially, Beat Four consists of 432.1 square miles of Coronado National Forest areas, with an estimated population of 275 as of 2004.
